A Fix For Early Extension

Early extension in your downswing is a common mistake. This is when your hips go forward towards the ball and your chest counter balances by moving up further away from the ball.


To hit the ball from this body angle your shaft must now work more vertically through the ball as your wrists uncock to reach it, the ball that is.


This type of pattern can have various causes however in general a good feel for fixing this problem is to feel on the downswing like you are pointing your face to the ball, not pulling it away from it.
